The proposed method has been studied at the University of Udine, under the supervision of prof. Maria Pia Francescato, dr. Mario Geat and Mr. M. Blokar (of ANIAD), and prof. Pietro Enrico di Prampero, with the collaboration of prof. L. Cattin and of dr. C. Noacco, two expert diabetologists. The implementations of the prototypes, for both the web-server version and the portable device, have been guided by prof. Sergio Carrato and Agostino Accardo, at the University of Trieste.

The development of both the method and the implementation have been funded by two grants (to the Universities of Udine and Trieste, respectively) offered by Area Science Park, Trieste, within the so-called "Sister Project" and the L.R. 22/2/2000, No 2, Art. 6 of Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia.

A patent request (Publication Number: WO/2007/014909, International Application No.: PCT/EP2006/064775) is currently pending for the project.
