Prof. Lucia Gardossi is Associate Professor of organic chemistry at
the School of Pharmacy of University of Trieste and Head of the Laboratory of
“Applied and Computational Biocatalysis” at the “Dipartimento di Scienze
Chimiche e Farmaceutiche” (DSCF) since 2005.
She has more than 30 years’
experience in biocatalysis, having worked in international institution at MIT
(USA) and also in industry on bio-based chemistry, industrial biotechnology. She
has close collaborations with several other chemical, biotechnological, and
engineering groups in Europe as well as with industrial partners, having also
co-funded in 2007 a spin off company (Sprin technology for sustainable
chemistry) together with so-workers and Mitsubishi Chemical Coorporation. The
entire national and international network of the group and University will be
available to ER for individual collaborations. Prof. Lucia Gardossi has a
long-term experience in mentoring and supervising PhD students (>10) and
Post Docs (>25). Since 2017 she is Member of the board of the Italian
National Cluster on Green Chemistry-SPRING and coordinator of the Scientific
Committee.
She is also member of the National
Bioeconomy Coordination Task Force, Presidency of Council of Ministers of
Italian Government, as well as member of the working group on Bioeconomy of the
Italian Minister for the Environment. She has been vice chair of the
Advisory group of the European Commission for the SC2 of H2020 and rapporteur
for the mid term evaluation of the BBI JU programme. Currently she is member of
the advisory group for the analysis of BBI JU programme portfolio and KPIs
validations. She is also member of the Advisory Board of Acib (Austria), and
involved in an H2020 ITN project as responsible of one scientific WP and of the
gender working group.
