Research activities

We address the study of coins with different methods and perspectives: History of Money, History of Numismatic Studies, Chemical Analysis, Art History, Archaeology, Economic History, Archaeometry, Computer Science, Communication.

We rely on an innovative holistic approach to the coins, in order to examine all possible aspects of the analysis. Our aim is to consider heterogenous places and times: from the Celtic and Roman West to the Byzantine and Islamic world, up to the Iranian and Central Asian context, over a long period of time, from the Archaic Age until the Middle Ages.
