Data Protection&Research Open Dual Lecture

Transform4Europe universities’ academic staff, researchers, and PhD students are invited to attend an Open Lecture titled “Data Protection and Research” by Marten Juurik from the University of Tartu and the Estonian Research Council. The online lecture is scheduled for April 26, from 11:15 to 13:45 CET (MS TEAMS).

This lecture will cover the fundamentals of personal data protection regulations, emphasizing issues relevant to research. It will also provide guidance on integrating data protection principles into research design. The target audience includes researchers with minimal or no prior knowledge of data protection.

Marten Juurik, the lecturer, is a junior researcher in ethics at Tartu University. He is one of the authors of Tartu University’s “Guide for Data Protection in Research” and has years of experience teaching communication and information ethics, as well as data protection.

Open Dual Lecture in Alicante

On October 18, 2023, there will be a new Open Dual Lecture happening from 10 AM-12.30 PM. The Lecture, organized by the University of Alicante, will address the topic of Digital Entrepreneurship in the field of Tourism. It will be moderated by Dr Susana A. de Juana, Associate Lecturer at the Department of Business of the Management Tourism Research Institute of the UA, and will host two speakers:

  • Dr Raquel Huete, Senior Lecturer at the Department Sociology of the Tourism Research Institute, University of Alicante
  • Matej Kalan, Digital Architect & Strategist

Open Dual Lecture at the University of Alicante

A new Open Dual Lecture will take place on the 27th of January, 2023,
from 6 pm to 8 pm. Organized by the University of Alicante, it will focus on the Entrepreneurial and Academic scope of Sustainable Tourism.

The lecture venue is the university’s conference room, Sala de Conferencias, Edificio San Fernando 40, Alicante.

The Open Dual Lecture will be delivered by:

  • Leonardo Cerno, a freelance outdoor guide & consultant in protected areas
  • Dr Oana Driha, US Associate Professor, Department of Applied Economic Analysis

The moderation is held by Dr Josep Ivars, UA Professor, Department of Regional Geographic Analysis & Physical Geography Tourism Research Institute.

Fostering Academia – Industry Dialogue

The University of Trieste, as partner of Transform4Europe project, organises an Open Dual Lecture to foster dialogue between the University and the world of Industry.

The public lecture will take place at Stazione Rogers (Riva Grumula 4, Trieste) on Thursday 28 July at 6.30 p.m .

There will be a live stream on the University’s youtube channel

The Lecture has two mail goals: make it clear that the challenge is the same from both the academic and the industrial/business perspectives, and share the mutual knowledge about the most important topics of the future.

Two speakers, one academic and an entrepreneur are invited to dialogue about the new challenges of energy having in mind the three focus areas of the Transform4Europe project:

  • digital transformation and smart regions;
  • environmental transformation and sustainability;
  • societal transformation, community building and inclusion;
