Enzo Mumolo  received the Dr.Eng. Degree in electronic  engineering from the University of Trieste, Italy, in 1982, where he conducted research on signal processing algorithms. In 1984, he joined the Central Laboratory of ITT Face, formerly FACE Research Center,  Rome, Italy. In 1985, he was with ITT DCD-West, San Diego, CA. In 1987, he became responsible for research activities within the Speech Processing Department of Alcatel Italia central lab. From 1990 to 1992, he was with Sincrotrone Trieste, Trieste, Italy, as Head of the Electronics Group. Since 1993 he has been working  at the Engineering and Architecture  Department of the University of Trieste, where he  delivered several informatics courses, including Programming,  Computer Networks, Architectures of Computer systems, Operating Systems.

His research interests include Operating Systems, Robotics, Computer Vision, Speech Processing and Nonlinear systems. In such areas he published many papers in international professional journals and conference proceedings and he holds many national and international patents. In the previous years he acted as Editor of Computing and Information technology Journals and as Member of the Programme Committee of several Conferences.

He is an IEEE and ACM Member.
