TEST PREDICTIVITY

Sensitivity

This parameter indicates the ability of the test to detect all real patients.
We consider a patient serum as positive when, after the BASIC option densitometric analysis, at least two of the three brain regions considered are positive or strongly positive. The patient serum is negative when two of the three brain regions are negative or borderline after the densitometric analysis.
The sensitivity value of our test is 81%.

Specificity

This parameter is an index of the ability of the test to detect as positive only the real patients.
The specificity of our test is 89%.

Negative Predictive Value (NPV)

This test parameter indicates that the large majority of the negative sera belong to healthy donors.
The NPV of our test is 97%.

Positive Predictive Value (PPV)

This parameter indicates that the majority of the positive sera are sera from real patients.
Our densitometric test has a PPV of 52%.
