TABA: Trieste Autoimmune Brain Atlas is a project born in 2000 in the Cellular and Molecular Neuroanatomy laboratory directed by Dr. Tongiorgi's at the Department of Life Sciences-Biology of the University of Trieste (Italy).
Tongiorgi's group deals mainly with two projects: Trafficking and translations of mRNA in neural cells and Role of autoantibodies in autoimmune neurodegenerative pathologies.
TABA originates from this second project with the purpose to offer a serological test for the detection of anti-neuron antibodies and to develop a rat brain atlas representative of the staining pattern associated with the different autoimmune neurological disorders analyzed.
The Cellular and Molecular Neuroanatomy laboratory is located in the M building of the Department of Life Sciences-Biology of the University of Trieste (map).
