2010
June 2011: our forensic image processing subgroup has passed the 1st phase of the national Italian start ups competition with the FCUBE project; the next phase will be held September 23, 2011, at the University of Udine.
March 2011: our paper titled "A generalized FLANN filter for nonlinear active noise control" has been accepted for publication on IEEE Trans. on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing.
March 2011: the technology site Wired talked about two of our ongoing forensic projects; read what's going on at the "Da Trieste un'App per CSI" (i.e. "A CSI App from Trieste University") page and come back here for additional information.
February 2011: participation to the Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences 2011, with a review presentation about automatic systems for the retrieval of footwear starting from the crime scene shoemarks.

September 2010: organization of the 10th Business Meeting of the Digital Imaging Working Group (DIWG) of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI), held 7-10 September here in Trieste. The Technical Program is available from the official ENFSI-DIWG page.
August 2010: organization of the "Special Session on Forensic Image, Video and Signal Processing" at EUSIPCO 2010.
August 2010: participation in EUSIPCO 2010, with one presentation on rotation and translation invariant content based image retrieval system for shoe marks.

March 2010: The Kick-off Meeting of CHIRON, a Research Project of the 2009 Call of the ARTEMIS JU Program, was held. The project intends to combine state-of-the art technologies and innovative solutions into an integrated framework designed for an effective and person-centric health management along the complete care cycle.
