An international experience abroad is an added value to students educational career.
The University of Trieste offers several study opportunities (for one semester or a full academic year) in non-European countries.
The University of Trieste chooses its partners according to three main principles:
- on the basis of shared and integrated interests involving courses and programmes;
- in the light of already pre-existing relations between departments or individual researchers, mostly deriving from joint research projects;
- with a view to improving the networking opportunities of University of Trieste

Bovec Summer School

Established in 1994, the Bovec Summer school attracts every year in August university students from Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia-Hercegovina and Bulgaria for a multicultural, multilingual two-week course in the little Alpine village of Bovec (also known as Plezzo in Italian and Flitsch in German), located in Slovenia near the Italian and Austrian borders.

The courses are organized by the Alpen-Adria-Universitšt of Klagenfurt (Austria) in cooperation with the Universities of Trieste (Italy), Udine (Italy), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Maribor (Slovenia) and Koper (Slovenia), and with the sponsorship of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Public Education, Science and Culture.

The aim of the initiative is to promote reciprocal knowledge among university students in the multinational Alps-Adriatic region. Every year courses deal with a different specific topic related to cultural, social, historic issues common to the Alps-Adriatic regions.

Courses are held in Italian, Slovenian and German and include language lessons, conferences, seminars, workshops as well as local excursions.
