Mauro Bussani (PhD
h.c., University of Fribourg, Switzerland) is Professor of Comparative
Law at the University of Trieste and Adjunct Professor at the University of
Macao, S.A.R. of the People's Republic of China.
He has been Visiting
Professor in the US, Brazil, Peru, France, Switzerland, the UK, Portugal,
Serbia, Hungary, Israel, China, and Canada. He is titular member of the
International Academy of Comparative Law and of the Société de législation
comparée (France). He sits on the councils of a number of scientific
academies/institutions, including the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law
(Switzerland), the Master of Laws in Cross-Cultural Business Practice
(University of Fribourg, Universiy of Berne, Swiss Federal Institute of
Technology - Switzerland), the Fondation pour le droit continental (France),
the Interdisciplinary Association of Comparative and Private International Law
(Austria).
He is co-editor of the (formerly Cambridge
University Press and now) Intersentia
series 'The Common Core of European Private Law', of the Editoriale
Scientifica series 'Tradizioni, traduzioni: il diritto allo specchio', of the Oxford University Press series 'The Common Core of European Administrative
Law' and of the Brill series 'Comparative Law in Global
Perspective'. He is
member of the editorial board of many law reviews such as the American Journal
of Comparative Law, the Tulane Law Review, the Journal of European Tort Law,
the Journal of Comparative Law in Africa, the Zbornik Pravnog Fakulteta u
Zagrebu.
His principal publications include 30 books (of which 16 are edited),
and more than 160 essays, in Italian, English, and French. Many of his works
have been translated in Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Serbian, Chinese,
Japanese and Korean.
