"Living Lab"
June 2017 --- A branch of the "Living Lab" founded by prof. Ilaria Garofolo and her coworkers at the University of Trieste has been created, to improve User Experience (UX) aspects of the project.

March 2017 --- A paper describing some first results in face recognition obtained using two different Deep Neural Network models was accepted for presentation at
Mipro 2017.

Thapar University, Punjab, India, cooperates with the project as a PostDoc researcher in our Lab.

March-July 2016 --- Prof. Herbert Frey, from Hochschule Ulm, is spending a sabbatical term visiting our laboratory and kindly cooperates with the project.

3 December 2015 --- Our project was presented at the University of Trieste event for the International Day of People with Disability.

Test video sequences
November 2015 --- Several video sequences have been acquired by blind people belonging to our Users' Group. Portions of the sequences have been annotated for the presence of faces and will be used to test available face detection algorithms.

Workshop
October 2015 --- A representative of our group has participated in the workshop Technology for blind: from prototype to product, organized by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the MIT.

Two accepted papers
August 2015 --- Two reports analysing the state of the art in the field have been accepted for presentation at ISPA 2015 and ACIVS 2015.

First Users' Group meeting
June 2015 --- The Users' Group was formed and has met the project's research group on June 11.

Approval by the Committee for Ethics of the University of Trieste
February 2015 --- The Committee for Ethics of the University of Trieste has approved the project, and has given suggestions about the interviews which will be done within the users' group.

Visitors from India
2014, 2015 --- Two students from India worked at the project during their two-month internship at IPL.

Funds from the University of Trieste
January 2015 --- The project has received a grant from the University of Trieste ("FRA" funds). The activity related to this funding has started on January 1st 2015 and is expected to last two years.
