Moreover, the exhibition enjoyed the patronage and sponsorship of the Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia and Provincia di Trieste, the contribution of Comune di Trieste, Comune di Pirano, Provincia di Trieste, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Trieste, Fondazione Benefica Alberto e Kathleen Foremann Casali and Camera di Commercio di Trieste, and the support of Nucleo dei Carabinieri Subacquei – Comando Friuli Venezia Giulia and Assocciazione Flondar.

This exhibition was a tale of sailing along these sea lands, from the mouths of the Timavo River to Pirano, throughout the centuries of their history. The pictures and the objects showed a glimpse of the historical, archaeological and environmental heritage, in particular to the community living there, in order to know its past but also its near future.

The history of our lands dates back to a long time ago: the portrayed sites and the displayed objects belong to a vast chronological period - between the Neolithic (IV-III millennium) and Renaissance (XVI cent. AD) - along the centuries which have undergone deep transformations of the coastal landscape. The aim of the Interreg Project Italy Slovenia “Alto Adriatico” is to rebuild this landscape.
